Riders in Roermond area?
Moderator: ghulst
Hi, I'm a Scotsman living just on the German side of the border from Roermond. I ride a CCM 404DS and am struggling to find areas to off-road.
We do have access to an area of forest on the Dutch border with a few climbs, some sand and some fast stretches.
We are spending the 25th Sept with Ad Ketelaars in Brabant but would anyone like to meet up with me and a couple of other Brits and show us some areas and routes in the Netherlands and Belgium? Might even try some enduros or hare and hounds (if you have such things??!)
My e-mail is: the.ross.family@t-online.de.
Cheers
John
Hey John, recomend strongly against riding in the ; very tembting ; wooded area between Elmpt and Roermond. Controls are frecuant and penalties substantual. On the dutch side the whole area is a reserve owned by our beloved Beatrix and sadly enough she can afford loads of guards. On the german side u've got more bordercontrol than in Belfast because of drugtraffic. Try cross the border legid and u'll find vast areas of construction where i to will be riding my first meters of this year in the weekend. Ciao

Ha ha, all i see behind the wire is golfing housewives! We woud'nt wont to disturbe them! I'd rather take my chances with the borderpatrol...
