Well....I decided to come on Friday on knobby wheels and ride with "easy" group on Saturday if I have chance, so put back on offroad wheels of my DR. I just used them about month ago last time.

And...sh...t. Something happened and I do not know how.
Front wheel now sits in WP forks at least 2 mm to right side of the forks centerline, so 2 mm wrong offset. I have no idea how that happened, all I did is tested new rear suspension by "fly by" over some objects/bumps.
I mean - not wood logs, but just smaller things. Also I took off and put back on relatively fresh MT21 tyre I had in garage, but no extremes like standing on the wheel etc.
Now apart from wrong offset wheel also looks like egg :( not too bad, but bad enough to see.

Guys, question I have is: by how many mm you may offset wheel using spokes tension when it comes to DR front wheel? I already seem to have managed about 1 mm but it starts to feel like something going to give.
On 17" wheel it is easy to manipulate offset about 4 mm range, but on 21 it seems a bit extreme :( any experience?

OK, taking it back...

My wheel simply went 8 shaped...badly.
Probably my fault. Sh...t. Will try to fix it by adjusting spokes...

Anybody knows good place where they can straighten rim not by spokes tension but rim itself?

Would not trust the rim or spokes no more, get a other wheel! is cheaper also

And never heard about that happening to a BIG front wheel.. even mine are straight.. and the both mis one spoke for years

looks like it's time came, this is why it happened.

I fully disassembled wheel now. I can clearly see that previous owner had it straightened once. Out of 2 wheels I had I chose good one to sell and bad one to leave for myself. Well, my fault.

1 spoke was replaced with some piece of sh...t, one I had to cut because nipple totally corroded.

I guess after I gave that wheel a bit of workout it slowly went back into "bent" shape as spokes got pulled.

Anyway, I have about 25 old spokes left from supermoto conversion, I am cleaning tread and chosing best ones now and will try to assemble wheel and make it straight as possible. If I succeed I will be able to come on mt21s pirellis and take part in "easy" allroad ride.

BTW - they promise showers for Saturday.

Right...anybody have DR SR43 front rim or wheel in very good state for sale?

Spent hours trying to adjust it. About 10 mm of overall "8" on the rim and I am running out of adjustment....

Sh...t. 5 hours work yesterday down the drain :(

Also, if anyone have KTM front wheel (21") for sale - I am interested too.
Even better than stock DR wheel.

Zappa, I really appreciate it - thanks!

OK, let's talk on Friday then :)

I prefer KTM wheel because for my WP forks I have to use XR400-size front bearings (smaller) to fit 17 mm axle and as I heard someone already had problem with smaller bearing...
Plus KTM wheel takes 310 mm disk that my Beringer brake is meant for.
I'll bring some beer from my hometown of Hoegaarden to smoothen up conversation about buying wheel
