Shared Features
Several features are shared on all the full-size models, including:
-YZ bend Renthal 790 aluminum bars.
-Improved front brake cable routing.
-The weight of the rear swingarm has been reduced by a claimed 1.1 pounds by increasing the arm diameter from 37mm to 42mm. With stronger extruded and hydro formed arms, the weight of the cast aluminum center section has been reduced.
-The rear brake bracket has been redesigned for weight reduction and for easier wheel installation.
-All the full-size models also receive a fork with a new design that separates the oil and air, and features a chrome surface with Kashima Coat on the lower legs for reduced friction.
-A full rebound oil lock system provides more controlled damping at beginning stroke of rear suspension, and prevents top-out.
-You'll also find a variety of smaller items, everything from making fasteners similar (and reducing the number of Allen and Phillips head bolts), an improved plastic material (to substantially minimize the milky white flex marks), to reshaping the sprockets to improve chain life

Repeat after us: power-to-weight ratio.
The all-new YZ125 is 10 pounds lighter, making it the ultimate in power-to-weight in the 125 class. This pure-bred, intense, hard-charging super-lightweight animal is here to kick some tail.
Start with a more powerful and compact six-speed engine that's four pounds lighter. It fits neatly into the new aluminum frame/swingarm that takes another five pounds off the bike while retaining the proven geometry and excellent handling YZs are famous for.
Then there's the new 48mm fork and the improved, anti-bottoming shock, linkage and rigid new swingarm mounting - to better deal with the punishment only youthful exuberance unleashed upon a motocross track can dish out.
Also new for 2005, a Renthal aluminum handlebar shaves more weight, cuts vibes, and looks sweet along with new magnesium clutch cover and titanium footpegs.
The instant-reacting YZ125 is not playing, and casual riding is not its strong suit. This one's built to race, to ride hard and to aim at the top of the podium.
Keep it on the pipe and claim your reward: an unmatchable combination of power and lightness that no other 125 will match.

Full Speed Ahead
At Yamaha, two-stroke development continues full speed ahead, and another Supercross Championship for the YZ250 only adds incentive to make the bike even more competitive for 2005.
Introducing the all-new aluminum framed YZ250 - strong like bull, five pounds lighter, and retaining the geometry and handling for which YZ is legendary.
Rigid and lighter swingarm
Revised linkage
All-new fork using all-new transfer control valves
New aluminum Renthal handlebar
.... and about a hundred other details designed to produce an even more unbeatable power-to-weight ratio.
The YZ250 is a sharp-edged sword indeed. Its class-leading carbon-fiber reed-valve inducted YPVS-valved engine has evolved into a hard-hitting and responsive powerplant, and even more so with less weight to propel.
As delivered, the YZ250 is ready to race straight out of the crate.
Try not to be shocked at how good you are when you open this Supercross-winning performance package.
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price...$6,099

More power, great new suspension. What else do you need to know?
For 2005, chassis and engine refinement continue to leave the competition farther behind.
The all-new 48mm fork finds its way onto the front of YZ250F's sharp-handling frame, and the trick new shock out back controls a more rigidly mounted, lighter swingarm. The result is better feel and feedback, consistent damping, and more comfort, all of which makes those long motos feel shorter.
More power unravels laps quicker too, especially since the redesigned engine delivers it super smooth from the instant you open the throttle.
New intake ports
New combustion chamber
New piston
Revised ignition mapping
... have all been engineered to produce smoother power and more of it, followed by a linear transition into the YZ250F's 13,500-rpm top end.
Add YZ handling and you've got the winner of the 2004 model, 250 four-stroke shootouts in Dirt Bike, Motocross Action and Cycle News. This year, the horses are even more ready, willing and able.
Saddle up. Ride hard.

YZ450F '05
Domesticated, Not Tamed
We fired the first shot in the modern four-stroke revolution when we built the YZ400F - a bike that won the Outdoor National Series in its rookie season.
Now, the reigning World Supercross GP and World Motocross Champion YZ450F pulls even farther ahead with even smoother power delivery.
Improved cylinder head
Improved efficiecy combustion chamber
New carburetion
New airbox
New ignition mapping
... are all engineered to deliver super-tractable, deployable power that just keeps building all the way down the straight.
The resulting five-titanium-valved, DOHC, counterbalanced beast spreads the power so thick that the YZ450F is ready to deal with everything from deep sand to hardpan at the drop of the kickstart.
Add to that bottomless well of power the next leap forward in suspension technology. A new 48mm fork with all-new transfer control valves keeps the air and oil separate, and a new shock with damping circuitry straight from the factory race machines are part of the '05 package as well.
The race-ready theme carries through in these features -
New Renthal® handlebar
Titanium footpegs
Titanium exhaust components
Light and strong Excel® rims
Adjust-on-the-fly clutch.
The four-stroke revolution continues just as it began: with a blue bike leading.

-Nieuw voorremhendel ontwerp
-Ander buddyseat schuim
-En nog een paar kleine andere verandering
De rm-250 heeft de volgende veranderingen ondergaan :
-Veranderende verbrandingskamer
