Colleagues,
I am back from 10 days ride in Morocco (great ride) but now it a bit sad.
On the way I had trouble with left carb and because of roadside repair mixture got too lean and now when I am back and looked inside engine...I killed it.
Result - burned valves, hard deposit scratched cylinder, valve seats gone bad too. Since bike had freshly rebuilt motor I really pissed off but noone to blame.
Now.
I am selling my DR. For pieces or complete. I need urgently to raise money to finance new bike. I mean - new, non-DR bike. I do long distance trips and have no time and money to re-work my DR anymore. Mostly time is problem.
I have to go to Norway in August. I need money by then.
what I have
DR800 SR43A, engine in perfect order except cylinder, valve seats, piston and valves.
Rest is just fine.
Stock carbs, left one with problem - I do recommend to replace it.
Wilbers fully adjustable shock absorber, still on warranty. Won't be cheap, but considerably cheaper than new (650 Euros new)
WP extreme forks fully set for DR, with Beringer 4 pot caliper (no adaptors, direct bolt on), set of 17 inch supermoto wheels, 2 sets of stock wheels, one stock set adapted for WP extreme. It is all made in a way to allow you to change offroad wheels to sumo in 15 minutes.
Trailtech dashboard adapted for DR
Ex-Benelli tornado exhaust can, DYI link pipe and Holeshot stainless header
Rear LED light adapted for DR
Quite beaten crashbars DYI with different mount system, really strudy
Luggage racks adapted for Aprilia Pegaso panniers and panniers - a bit beaten up
DYI chain deflector for Sumo wheels and lower chain catcher based on RMZ450 block
16.5 Ah Motobatt battery, 4 weeks old and battery tray to accomodate it for DR
All rest of bits and pieces - frame, chassis, a bit beaten plastics, 2 fuel tanks, shedloads of parts from second DR, engine from second DR (missing piston and valves), RR from DR etc. etc. etc.
Basically I have 2 DRs SR43A and some extra pieces I want to sell.
If you wish to make bulk purchase of all that - PM me.
Otherwise I must tell you that almost new Wilbers will not be very cheap, nor WP extreme forks and Beringer brake.
WP Extremes on my DR have travel shortened and revalved by Hessler and work like magic.
If you want it all together - my bike and all of second DR except second DR frame and with documents of course etc. - 2000 and it is yours. I can even arrange delivery to Netherlands probably.

Hi Bluesman,
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Well you know what they say: one man's pain is another man's gain..I might be interested in the trailtech speedo. Mine's a SR41 however so can you send me a pic so I can figure out whether or not I can make it fit?

Ooops..I am sorry guys - just spoke to my friends at russian DR club...they plan to come with minivan and take everything that is left - whole lot...they booked it even made pre-payment! Parts for Big is a problem over there.
Trailtech booked too.
But for information: you can install it on any bike, any DR big too. It is fully universal thing - just plug it to any 12 volt (it also have internal battery) etc.
For temp sensor that goes under spark plug you need to make a bit of work with Dremel on outside of head, but it is 10 mins job.
You can get it new for under 100 euros from US eBay - this is how I got mine, paid 100 euros with delivery if I remember right.

Good luck with your new bike!
Good luck with your new bike!
Suzuki DR 800 1997, KTM Adv 640 1997
Thank you Zappa!
Well, I already ordered new bike... first time in my life I actually buying NEW bike.
Triumph Tiger 800XC. Just 100% what I need - long distance travel with sometimes good fast roads, sometimes bad roads, sometimes dirt roads/trails but not single-track trails for fully offroad bikes.
Next - I need to get it, do Norway in August on it and for next year we plan Iceland - dirt roads + asphalt roads.
Can't wait for delivery 2-3 weeks they said. I feel I am over loss of my DR. Good thing - it will keep quite a few more DRs on the road! Noble mission.

Bluesman, congrats with the bike.
May you have many troublefree trips with it.

Thank you all for kind words!
I hope soon we will have video of our trip to Morocco to share...
Unfortunately our only true "action" camera attached to helmet of one of guys was broken off when rider flew off bike head down
He was OK, but his brand new Contour HD...well...So much for attempt to shot video on dirt roads
So we only shot video on roads, where usual HD videocamera (handheld panasonic) was holding on windscreen of other rider GS1200 Adv. Well, at least we got scenery and may be even some desert on it.
Some photos that my friends uploaded so far - I was team mechanic, never took any pictures myself

I hope so - if it is delivered on time...
I plan Norway August 10-20, then it will be big break in long trips till next summer as I will run out of vacation days, so I hope I have chance to drink few beers with you guys - to make sure my new bike runs smooth - Soviet tradition to have drink for new vehicle.
I do not know how to live next few weeks in waiting. Drives me mad

Zandprutser 1e klas.

Zondagochtend (eigenlijk zaterdag nacht) besteld in engeland,
